Die Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin überzeugt durch ihren hohen Fahrkomfort und ihre Vielseitigkeit. Dank der niedrigen Sitzhöhe und einer Vielzahl an sauber arbeitenden, aber eher konservativ ausgelegten Assistenzsystemen ist sie ideal für Straßenfahrer und Offroad-Einsteiger. Der bewährte, fein dosierbare Motor und das sauber ansprechende Fahrwerk bieten ein geschmeidiges Fahrerlebnis. Der Langstrecken-Komfort, inklusive tief integrierter Sitzposition, passt zum gutmütigen Charakter der Maschine. Das Bedienkonzept der Elektronik könnte intuitiver sein und erfordert Eingewöhnung. Die Ergonomie für stehendes Fahren im Gelände, sowie die Fahrwerksreserven für härtere Offroad-Abschnitte sind verbesserungswürdig. Auch die Handguards erweisen sich als nicht robust genug für den intensiven Gebrauch abseits befestigter Straßen. Insgesamt präsentiert sich die Africa Twin aber als super ausgewogene, komfortable Reisemaschine, welche auch leichtes Gelände souverän meistert.
